SUPPORT GROUPS
Support groups connect people with PMDD in a safe, understanding environment
where they can share experiences, feel seen, and build community. They’re run by trained volunteers with lived experience, and they’re growing across the UK with the aim of having a group in every area. Anyone interested in joining can fill out the form to be matched with their nearest group.
Joining a group
Joining a PMDD Project support group means becoming part of a peer‑led, compassionate space where you can talk openly, listen, or simply be around people who understand. Groups meet in cafés, libraries, community centres, or online, and there’s never any pressure to share. Sessions follow clear ground rules to keep everyone safe, respected, and supported. Each group is inclusive, confidential, and designed to help you feel less alone.

Leading a group
Leading a group involves creating a welcoming, calm space for others with PMDD. Hosts don’t need clinical expertise – just lived experience, empathy, and a desire to support their community. Hosts choose the venue, set the meeting frequency, and guide the session using our ground rules. They receive a full starter kit, safeguarding guidance, promotional support, and ongoing check‑ins from The PMDD Project. The role is about holding space, not providing therapy, and hosts are encouraged to prioritise their own wellbeing too.
