Our Team

Founder and CEO

Phoebe Williams

Hi, I’m Phoebe – the Founder and CEO of The PMDD Project.

I began my career in the fashion and beauty industry, working in buying and merchandising – a fast-paced, competitive environment that I once loved. But over time, PMDD started to take over my life. The symptoms were overwhelming, and I struggled to find the support or understanding I needed. Like many others, I was misdiagnosed, dismissed, and left to navigate the impact alone. My professional life, relationships, and confidence were all deeply affected.

It took years to realise that what I was experiencing wasn’t “just bad PMS” – it was PMDD. That personal experience paired with a deep frustration at how long it takes to get a diagnosis and the lack of awareness within the healthcare system, is what led me to create The PMDD Project – something that started as a passion project, and quickly turned into becoming the first UK charity dedicated solely to PMDD.
I’ve worked in the charity sector for around seven years, and throughout that time I‘ve seen the real, lasting impact that grassroots-led, community-driven change can create. I believe in the power of lived experience, practical resources, and honest conversations to transform how PMDD is seen, understood, and supported.
Through The PMDD Project, I’m working to build a future where no one with PMDD feels alone – and where they don’t have to fight so hard just to be taken seriously.

Community Outreach Manager

Kimberley Cormack

Hi! I am Kim and I am the Community Outreach Manager for The PMDD Project.
My role is to develop our impact in the PMDD community and society at large. Whether that is planning and delivering training, workshops or lectures around the UK, writing for and managing our Blog, speaking to local and national media or putting together the first PMDD information board at Birmingham Women’s Hospital (a personal milestone), I am committed to bringing about real, positive change for the PMDD community.
My career has straddled Charity/Community work, Educational roles in SENCO and the Arts. The common theme throughout all three fields is that I am drawn to projects that support, empower and connect marginalised communities.
I am most proud of my work with and for Care experienced people in the UK, my first full length play about female pleasure, consent and healing which toured the UK in 2023 and the meaningful, positive connections I have made with vulnerable and/or marginalised individuals in my career.
As a care experienced, neurodiverse person with acute PMDD, I understand how it feels to not be represented, dismissed and misunderstood. That’s why it is such a dream come true to be able to transform some of those awful lived experiences with PMDD, into something positive for the next person with PMDD. I feel so grateful to be able to work with The PMDD Project in achieving their goals around Providing Support, Raising Awareness and Funding Research. In such a short space of time, we have achieved so much and I am so excited and determined for our future.

Rebecca Matthews

Safeguarding Lead
My name is Rebecca (Beck) and have a keen interest in women’s health which lead me to the amazing work at the PMDD Project.
I have worked within the health, social care, and voluntary sector for over 35 years, and I am an innovative, creative, passionate, professional practitioner in safeguarding children, young people, and adults at risk.
I am so passionate and committed to creating a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment and safeguarding is a core element of this commitment. What can be more rewarding than finishing work, going home knowing you have made a difference in someone’s life.
My work is person-focused so that the voice and welfare of the child/ young person and adult remains at the heart of my support. I have worked in various settings such as family safeguarding, police, education, health (including dentists, GP surgeries', hospitals, midwives), local authorities, private care providers, strengthening family hubs, a Domestic Abuse charity, and my current at national charity as a safeguarding advisor.
I also co-chair the Gender Equality Affinity Group at my current place of work. Gender studies and equity is very close to my heart. The Gender Equality Group aims to provide information, support, and a space for discussion on gender-related issues where all voices are equally heard and valued. This is where I meant the co-founder of The PMDD Project Phoebe, who spoke about PMDD and the struggles a woman faces in getting a diagnosis and day to day life, straight away I wanted to offer my support as an ally and be part of this groundbreaking UK first charity.
